Construction of a Technical Football Stadium Underway in Akhaltsikhe

The Minister of Infrastructure, accompanied by Giorgi Shonia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund; Ioseb Alibegashvili, State Representative in the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region; and Varlam Tsiklauri, Mayor of Akhaltsikhe Municipality, inspected the ongoing construction works of the technical football stadium in Akhaltsikhe.

The project, with an estimated cost of GEL 4.8 million, is being financed from the state budget.

Rehabilitation of the existing stadium in Akhaltsikhe is planned in accordance with international standards. The upgraded stadium will have a seating capacity of at least 3,000 spectators. The estimated cost of the project is GEL 10 million, and a tender for its implementation has already been announced.

Furthermore, the possibility of developing a rugby stadium in Akhaltsikhe is also under consideration, with consultations currently underway with the Georgian Rugby Union.
