Who we are

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) was established in 1997. MDF cooperates with major international investment banks and financial institutions, operating in Georgia. The activities of MDF are coordinated by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia and the Supervisory Board, established by a Governmental Decree.


The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) is a Legal Entity under Public Law (LEPL) with the objective of assisting to enhancement of institutional and financial capacities of local self-governmental bodies, making investments in local infrastructure and services, and improvement of main economic and social conditions for the local population. 


MDF implements a wide range of important infrastructure projects, including: urban upgrade of cities; development of infrastructure around tourist and cultural heritage sites; construction and rehabilitation of schools and kindergartens; construction of housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs); rehabilitation of water supply and wastewater systems; construction of shelters for homeless animals; development of cable car systems; modernization of sports infrastructure; and strengthening components supporting public-private investments (PPI).
