Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) – Revaz Sokhadze, together with Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) - Giorgi Shonia, and representatives of local self-governmental bodies, reviewed current and scheduled rehabilitation projects in Abastumani. The Minister inspected the sites, where the work is underway.

According to Revaz Sokhadze, issues still exist on some sites in Abastumani that were renovated several years ago, and the MRDI plans to address them.

“Unfortunately, certain issues still exist on those sites where renovation work was carried out several years ago. We promised the local residents that we would definitely fix these issues. To do this, we need the works to be planned properly that will take some time, however the relevant work will begin shortly,” the Minister said.

Residential buildings and historic structures are currently being renovated in Abastumani. Work is currently underway at 16 locations on Rustaveli, Asatiani, and Paliashvili Streets.

Moreover, preparations are underway for a new stage of renovation work, which will include the restoration of buildings and the development of public spaces. The Rosha Park is to be expanded, an amphitheater on Rustaveli St. is to be expanded, pedestrian walkways and a boulevard type walking path on Asatiani St. are to be arranged.
