Sports Infrastructure Development Projects Underway in Telavi

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) is implementing two major sports infrastructure development projects in Telavi: the construction of a new football stadium, and the design of a swimming complex.
Construction is actively underway on the football stadium, designed for 300 spectators. Within the project, an artificial turf field and a lighting system will be installed, and an administrative building, locker rooms for both teams, restrooms, and auxiliary buildings will be constructed.
Construction of the football technical center began in November 2025, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. The project cost amounts to GEL 4.7 million.
Moreover, a new swimming complex is being designed in Telavi. As per the design documents, the complex includes two pools – a main pool of 30 meters long and of 25 meters wide, and a pool for children of 16 meters long and of 8 meters wide.
The complex also envisages the arrangement of stands for 200 spectators, locker rooms, showers, administrative and support facilities, a lobby, and a parking lot for 200 cars. The building will be fully accessible to people with disabilities. Once the detailed design is finalized, the necessary procedures for constructing the swimming complex will begin.
The cost of the design work for the swimming complex exceeds GEL1.035 million.
Both projects are being implemented with financial support from the Government of Georgia (GOG) and are aimed at developing sports infrastructure in Telavi and creating modern conditions for sports activities.
