Public Consultation Held on the Anaklia and Ganmukhuri Coastal Development Project

At the initiative of the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, a public consultation was held on the design documentation for the development of coastal areas of Anaklia and the village of Ganmukhuri in Zugdidi Municipality.
The meeting was attended by Davit Verava, the State Representative in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, as well as representatives of the local authorities.
The consultation focused on the design documentation for the development of the coastal area, as well as environmental and social reports prepared as part of the project.
The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format, allowing local residents to receive clarifications on issues of interest to them.
The project envisages development of a 66.5-hectare, year-round, multifunctional recreational space. The coastal area will be divided into dedicated functional zones, including children’s, educational, cultural, sports, and recreational spaces, as well as pedestrian and cycling paths.
The project also includes rehabilitation of existing structures, construction of an open-air stage and a decorative pond, renovation of the pedestrian bridge connecting Anaklia and Ganmukhuri, and landscaping with native plant species.
The projects are being implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure with financial support from the Asian Development Bank.
