Tender Announced for Infrastructure Rehabilitation in Kvemo Machkhaani

A tender has been announced for the rehabilitation of infrastructure in the village of Kvemo Machkhaani, Sighnaghi Municipality. The project is being implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The procurement includes preparation of detailed design and cost-estimate documentation, followed by the implementation of construction and rehabilitation works based on the approved documentation.

The project will cover restoration and rehabilitation of existing buildings and structures in the village, including fences, façades and roofs; rehabilitation of damaged road infrastructure; installation of stormwater drainage systems; and improvement of public spaces and squares.

Under the announced tender, the design process will be carried out in two stages. Following preparation and approval of the design and cost-estimate documentation, the respective construction and rehabilitation works will commence. It is also important to note that, in accordance with the design brief, works on properties designated as cultural heritage monuments will be carried out with the involvement of relevant specialists and in coordination with the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation.

Kvemo Machkhaani is a historic village in Sighnaghi Municipality, distinguished by its historic urban fabric and architecture characteristic of the 19th century. The historic buildings and structures preserved in the village, together with its distinctive cultural landscape characteristic of Kiziki, create significant tourism potential. With the preservation of this historic character as a key consideration, the project will contribute to the renewal of the village’s infrastructure, improvement of public spaces, and further development of Kvemo Machkhaani tourism potential.
