Tender Announced for the Rehabilitation of Tourism Infrastructure in Chiatura

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a tender for the rehabilitation of tourism and recreational infrastructure in Chiatura Municipality.
The tender provides for the preparation of design and cost-estimate documentation, followed by the implementation of construction and rehabilitation works based on the prepared documentation. The project includes rehabilitation of tourism and recreational infrastructure leading to the Mghvimevi Convent, as well as development of tourism infrastructure in the village of Katskhi.
In the area surrounding the Mghvimevi Convent, the project envisages rehabilitation of the existing pedestrian path and stairways, installation of safety handrails, restoration of the metal staircase leading to the convent, improvement of sanitary facilities, and development of designated rest areas.
In the village of Katskhi, a viewing platform overlooking the Katskhi Pillar and an access pedestrian eco-trail will be developed. The project will also include installation of protective safety barriers, information boards, and a small recreational area.
Particular attention will be paid to preserving the historic and natural environment throughout the implementation of the project. Rehabilitation of infrastructure around the Mghvimevi Convent will be carried out in compliance with cultural heritage protection requirements, while works in the village of Katskhi will follow the principle of minimal intervention in the natural environment.
The project will contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure in Chiatura Municipality, creating a safe and comfortable environment for visitors and pilgrims while preserving the area’s historical, cultural, and natural values.
