Tender Announced for the Development of Tourism Infrastructure in Poka

The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a tender for the development of tourist infrastructure in the vicinity of St. Nino Monastery in Poka Village of Ninotsminda Municipality.
The tender provides for the preparation of the design documentation, and the subsequent execution of reconstruction-rehabilitation work based on that documents.
The project envisages the rehabilitation of the open-air baptismal font on the shore of Paravani Lake, and its accessing infrastructure, the improvement of the headwork of Paravani River, and the surrounding area, the reconstruction of the existing bridge, the upgrade of sanitary facilities, as well as the arrangement-rehabilitation of vehicle roads and walking paths on the monastery site.
Within the project, the existing parking lot will be improved, damaged sections of the courtyard and fencing will be rehabilitated, and the outdoor lighting and power network will be upgraded. A multifunctional educational center will also be established there, and the buildings and water supply system on the monastery grounds will be repaired.
St. Nino Church in Poka is a cultural heritage site of national significance. Respectively, the arrangement of infrastructure for visitors and pilgrims will be carried out in accordance with the requirements and regulations, established for cultural heritage protection zones.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure in Poka, the creation of appropriate conditions for visitors and pilgrims, and the preservation of historical and cultural signifiance of the site.
