Architectural Concepts for Tsageri and Tbilisi Projects Reviewed at the Ministry of Infrastructure

The Ministry of Infrastructure hosted a meeting of the selection competition committee to review architectural concept designs for the Tsageri Cultural Center, the Boarding School and Dining Hall Complex of the Vladimir Komarov School, and the new building of Tbilisi Public School No. 37.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure, Revaz Sokhadze, the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Giorgi Shonia, the Deputy Mayor of Tsageri Municipality, Mamuka Letodiani, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs, Mariam Lashkhi, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the principals of the Vladimir Komarov Physics and Mathematics School No. 199 and Tbilisi Public School No. 37, as well as architects and art historians.
The Commission members reviewed the architectural concept for the Tsageri Cultural Center.

Under the proposed project, the historic Tsageri Cultural Center building, originally constructed in the 1950s, will be preserved and comprehensively rehabilitated in line with modern standards.

The multifunctional center will include a concert hall, exhibition and educational spaces. The project also envisages the development of the surrounding area, including recreational spaces and a parking facility.
The Commission also discussed four architectural concepts for the construction of a new boarding house and cafeteria complex for the Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School No. 199.

The proposed project envisages the construction of a boarding facility for 150 students, featuring residential rooms, shared living and study areas, a library, a computer laboratory, conference and meeting rooms, dedicated spaces for psychological and medical services, a sports room, and a dining hall with kitchen facilities.

The Competition Commission also reviewed the architectural concept for a new building for Tbilisi Public School No. 37, designed to accommodate 800 students.
According to the proposed design, the school's existing core structural parameters will be preserved while incorporating modern educational and technical standards, ensuring the comprehensive development of a contemporary school infrastructure.
The Competition Commission is expected to announce the winning architectural firms within the next few days.
