Football Training Centers of Modern Standards being built in Gori Municipality

The Ministry of Infrastructure is actively continuing its program to develop sports infrastructure throughout the country. Within that program, football training centers of modern standards are being built in Gori City and Mejvriskhevi Village of Gori Municipality. Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze inspected the progress of construction works on sites.

The Minister was accompanied by Giorgi Shonia - Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF), Levan Kobiashvili - President of Georgian Football Federation, Simon Guledani - State Representative to Shida Kartli Region, and representatives of local authorities.

The MDF of the Ministry of Infrastructure is building football traning centers of modern standards in Gori and Mejvriskhevi. Within the project, both sites are being equipped with training fields featuring artificial turf, stands for 300 spectators, and all the necessary infrastructure for athletes – including locker rooms, restrooms, medical offices, and auxilary storage facilities.

The construction of sports infrastructure is crucial for regional development and for creating a modern, high-quality training environment for young people in various municipalities across the country.

Football training centers will provide local ahthletes and young people with modern facilities for daily training, help popularize football, promote mass sports, and facilitate the hosting of sporting events in the regions.

The MDF plans to build more than 50 football traning centers and stadiums with artificial turf throughouth the country, which will be a key step toward creating a network of modern sports infrastructure in the regions and expanding access to sports for young people.

As part of the effort to develop sports infrastructure, Surami Rugby Training Center is being built in Shida Kartli, whereas design work is actively proceeding on Surami Multifunctional Sports Center.
