Infrastructural Projects are to start in Erisimedi Village

The restoration and infrastructural projects are scheduled to be implemented on a stage-by-stage basis in Erisimedi Village of Sighnaghi Municipality, affected by a natural disaster. First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Ilia Begiashvili, Director General of Georgian Amelioration Company Gigla Tamazashvili, Deputy Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Davit Kvinikadze, and representatives of local authorities met with the village residents, listened to their needs, and provided them with the information about the work to be executed.

The meeting addressed the current situation of the village, following the natural disaster-induced flooding that imposed significant damage to Erisimedi. The flood submerged residential houses, yards, and damaged the infrastructure of the village.

Government officials listened directly to the residents regarding their current needs, and discussed in detail the measures that will be taken to restore and develop the village.

In the course of the meeting, village residents were informed about the scheduled projects, including the construction of a new school and kindergarten, as well as other infrastructural projects.

Government officials noted that supporting the affected population and fully restoring of infrastructure in Erisimedi are amongst the top priorities of the state. Per him, the planned projects will be implemented in stages that will lay an important foundation for the safety and development of the village.
