MINISTRY OF INFRASTRUCTURE HOLDS A MEETING WITH ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITIONS’ WINNING COMPANIES

Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Giorgi Shonia met with representatives of those architectural bureaus that won the design competitions for multifunctional sports complexes and stadiums, and with which MDF signed relevant contracts.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the stages of detailed design, deadlines for preparing design documentation, and technical issues.
The Minister of Infrastructure emphasized the importance of projects to be implemented on a timely and high-quality manner. According to him, the introduction of architectural competitions has been an important step by the state, aimed at creating modern, high-quality, and distinctive infrastructural projects.
“The Ministry is ready to work with architects on resolving any issues that may arise during the process. If necessary, we will be actively involved in coordination with the relevant agencies. The state has taken important steps forward to develop the industry and expects a similar level of responsibility and participation from architectural companies,” Revaz Sokhadze noted.
The Minister also noted that the timely completion of design work is crucial for the timely start of the construction process and the implementation of projects within the planned timeframe.
The development of sports infrastructure across the country is one of the top priorities of the State and of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The planned projects aim at creating a multifunctional sports facilities and stadiums of modern standards that will help promote sports, actively engage young people, and increase access to high-quality infrastructure for local residents.
