UPGRADE OF HISTORICAL AND TOURIST INFRASTRUCTURE OF RUSTAVI IS TO BEGIN

The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure has identified the winner company of the bidding, announced for the development of large-scale urban and tourist infrastructure of Rustavi City.

The project envisages the restoration of buildings and structures of historical and cultural significance, the improvement of public tourism and recreational facilities, the upgrade of streets and roads, and the rehabilitation of engineering utilities.

Moreover, the project is to regulate/improve intersections and junctions between the project streets and adjacent areas that will improve the movement for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Within the Contract, in the course of the first stage of works, and based on the results of predesign studies, there will be defined the infrastructure requiring rehabilitation as per the overall urban concept.

The bidding winner company is required to take into account the upgrade of the appearance of the facilities, their functional purpose, historical and cultural features, as well as modern and innovative architectural approaches whilst preparing sketches and design documentation.

The upgrade of historical and tourist infrastructure of Rustavi City aims at transforming the city into a modern, comfortable, and tourist-friendly urban space.
