The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia under the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia has announced tenders for the design and rehabilitation of 14 public schools across the country.
Upon completion, the projects will serve up to 8,000 students and will cover both regional areas and the capital, Tbilisi.
The initiative includes schools located in the municipalities of Tbilisi, Gori, Samtredia, Tskaltubo, Zugdidi, Mestia, Sachkhere, Zestafoni, Sagarejo, Akhaltsikhe, Gardabani, Telavi, and Chiatura.
The selected projects include public schools in the villages of Ateni, Kvitiri, Shamgona, Kvemo Sazano, Manavi, Akhalsopeli, and Pshaveli, as well as Samtredia Public School No. 11, Mestia Public School No. 1, Sachkhere Public School No. 1, Chorvila Public School, Akhaltsikhe Public School No. 2, Tbilisi Public School No. 64, and Chiatura Public School No. 2.
The contracts provide for a comprehensive assessment of the current condition of school buildings. Based on expert evaluations, detailed rehabilitation plans will be developed, including full-scale renovation works and structural reinforcement where necessary.
The rehabilitation works will focus on upgrading core infrastructure, renovating educational and administrative spaces, and adapting facilities to meet modern educational standards. Engineering systems—including heating, ventilation, and water supply—will be modernized. The projects will also ensure compliance with safety standards and include improvements to surrounding school areas.
