GIORGI SHONIA APPOINTED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

Giorgi Shonia has been appointed Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.
Since August 2025, Giorgi Shonia had been serving as Director of United Water Supply Company of Georgia.

He brings extensive experience in the public sector. Prior to his appointment as Director of the water supply company, he served as Acting Director and Deputy Director within the same organization. Until the end of June 2025, he held the position of Head of the Infrastructure Project Coordination and Supervision Department at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia, where he also served as an advisor to the Minister.

From 2018 to 2025, Shonia was Head of the Secretariat of the Urban Planning and Municipal Economy Commission at the Tbilisi City Council. Between 2014 and 2018, he held various positions within the City Council.

Giorgi Shonia graduated from the Sukhumi branch of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences.
