RUGBY TRAINING CENTERS OF MODERN STANDARDS TO BE BUILT IN AMBROLAURI, SACHKHERE, LENTEKHI AND TSAGERI MUNICIPALITIES

The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure is launching the construction of the world-class rugby pitches in Ambrolauri, Sachkhere, Lentekhi Municipalities, and in Orbeli Village of Tsageri Municipality.

A relevant contract has been signed with the bidding winner company. The total duration of the work is set at 12 months.
As per the project, the pitches will be equipped with high-quality artificial turf, stands for 300 spectators, and modern lighting systems that will allow the pitch to be used at any time of day.

There are to be built also the changing rooms, showers, technical facilities and a medical office.
The rugby technical centers will be equipped with modern security systems and adapted for all spectators, including people with special needs.

In addition to that, MDF is to build 8 rugby pitches with artificial turf across the country: in Ponichala, in the vicinity of the Tbilisi Sea; on the site of Tbilisi Public School #180; in Tserovani Village of Mtskheta Municipality; in Tserovani Village, Tskaltubo, Stepantsminda Borough of Kazbegi Municipality, and in Surami Borough in Khashuri Municipality.

There are to be arranged the rugby pitches with natural turf in Kutaisi City and Gumbara Village of Tskaltubo Municipality.
The “Aiya” pitch of Kutaisi and the Avchala one of Tbilisi are to undergo rehabilitation as well.

The construction of rugby pitches across the country will contribute to the development of sports infrastructure, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people, and the further strenghtening of the rugby traditions of the country.
