Initial Environmental Examination for Tbilisi-Rustavi Road (Section 2) Modernization Project

The project aims at modernization of the 6.8 km road section (from Phonichala to Rustavi) of Tbilisi-Rustavi Highway with a total length of 17.4 km. This Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) has been prepared for this Section, as part of the ADB support (ADB Loan 2879-GEO) in developing the detailed design of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Supervision of the Tbilisi-Rustavi Urban link (Section 2). The objective of the study is to assist the Government in preparation and implementation of the efficient, safe and sustainable transport network, in compliance with international environmental safeguards.
