DESIGN OF A UEFA CATEGORY III STADIUM IN TSKALTUBO IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY

“Studio 9” - a winner of the competition, held by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF), is working on the design of a UEFA Category III stadium in Tskaltubo, designated for at least 6 000 spectators.

A sports complex of international standards, will be built to host football and rugby matches.

Following the demolition of the existing outdated stadium, the new stadium in Tskaltubo is to include locker rooms, showers, medical and physical therapy rooms, a doping control area, a conference hall, and a media center.

Additionally, as per design, modern security, lighting, sound and video surveillance systems will be installed there.

Moreover, there are to be arranged the infrastructure and parking lots for people with special needs.

Minister of Infrastructure - Revaz Sokhadze, Executive Director of MDF - Giorgi Shonia, President of Football Federation – Levan Kobiashvili, State Representative to Imereti Region – Levan Zalkaliani, and representatives of local authorities met with the designers in Tskaltubo. The Minister received an information from the architects on the work completed so far in the current stage of the design, and discussed the other details related to the design with them.
