The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has launched a project to upgrade the infrastructure of April 9 Alley and its surrounding area in Poti.

The planned works were reviewed on-site by the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Giorgi Shonia, the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Davit Verava, and the Mayor of Poti, Beka Vacharadze.

The project aims to support the city’s urban development and create a multifunctional public space that will provide both local residents and visitors with a comfortable, modern, and attractive environment. The planned interventions include both functional and visual improvements to the alley and the adjacent square.

As part of the project, the public space will be equipped with pedestrian, leisure, and recreational areas. Landscaping will be renewed, and a modern lighting system will be installed. Moreover, the project envisages improved pedestrian connectivity and visual integration with the Nikoloz Nikoladze Seafront.

The project will be implemented in several phases. The first stage will involve the preparation of design documentation, followed by construction and rehabilitation works.
