Rehabilitation of access road and retaining wall to Cultural Heritage Site in Gelati Monastery

Georgia intends to receive financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Development Project II, and to apply part of proceeds for payments under the contract for: Rehabilitation of Satsurblia Cave access road and adjacent infrastructure.

 

This sub-project (SP) site is located adjacent to Gelati Monastery, on the mountain plain on the outskirts of the village Gelati, approximately 12 km from Kutaisi, in western Georgia, Imereti Region.

SP envisages arrangement of retaining wall (length – 103,4 m, width – 0.40- 0.80 cm, height – 1.5 - 3 m) and rehabilitation of the access road (length -100m) to Gelati Monastery.
