560 IDP Households in Tskaltubo to be provided with housing

 The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastrucutre of Georgia (MRDI) is constructing 8 residential houses for IDPs in Gvishtibi Village of Tskaltubo Municipality. Project implementation is funded by the Government of Georgia (GoG) at the cost exceeding GEL 33 million. 560 IDP households will be provided with housing upon project finalization. The project was commenced in January 2019 and stage-by-stage will be completed in 2020-2021.

Following works finalization the living conditions of IDPs will be improved and they will be living in new houses, rehabilitated in compliance with international standards.

Executive Director of MDF Giorgi Shengelia along with Tskaltubo Municipality Mayor Grigol Ioseliani visited the site of current works.

The project envisages improvement of the site, adjacent to residential buildings. There will be installed the outdoor lighting and the playground for children will be arranged. Each building will be povided with its own parking lot, ramps, asphalt-concrete pavement will be applied over roads and drainage systems will be regulated. The residentail apartment will be fully adapted for the people with disabilities.  

Along with Tskaltubo, MDF is constructing the residential buildings for IDPs in Zugdidi and Kutaisi too. The program undergoes implementation with financial support  from the GoG and its total cost amounts to GEL 145 million for 2019-2020. 120 households in total were provided with residential areas in Mtskheta Town within the program, while 2320 households will be provided with housing in 2020-2021.
