Construction of IDP Housing in Village Gvishtibi in Active Phase

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is carrying out the project for construction of 8 IDP houses in Tskaltubo Municipality Village Gvishtibi. Cost of the Government of Georgia funded project is exceeding GEL  32.5 million. Following project completion, 560 IDP households will be provided with housing.  

 

Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia inspected ongoing works at the project site.

 

The project envisages improvement of the apartment block adjoining area, installation of outdoor lighting, arrangement of  playground for children. Each building will be equipped with its own parking lot and ramps, roads will be paved with asphalt concrete, drainage system will be arranged.  Appartments will be fully adapted to the needs of disabled.

 

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing IDP housing construction projects in other Municipalities of Georgia as well. Within the period of 2019-2020, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is to invest  GEL 135 million in construction of IDP housing.  Overall, the program is to provide living space for 2440 households. Establishment of decent living conditions for IDPs is one of major priorities set by the MDF.
