Development of a sustainable urban transport network is a key component for the development of urban areas in Georgia which can enhance the role of Tbilisi as an important business center in the South Caucasus region.

The SP “Arrangement of Tourism Infrastructure at Vani Kvabebi (caves)” was implemented under the Third Regional Development Project (RDP III), supported by World Bank. The SP envisaged arrangement of visitor center, public toilet, parking areas, recreational platform and applying of safety measures at the monument.

The SP was implemented under the Third Regional Development (RDP III), supported by World Bank. Under the presented sub-project (SP), it was planned to rehabilitate access road to village Mirashkhani. The length of road to be rehabilitated is 3600 m and the width is 5 m.

Coastal improvement is one of the priorities among other infrastructural projects, which will facilitate the future development of the Batumi City and region.

Document prepared by External Monitoring Specialist, that confirms MDFG carried out the resettlement procedures in accordance with requirements of ADB SPS (2009) and Georgian legislation on the KM 5+300 to KM 5+400 and KM 5+400 to KM 6+800 of the Tbilisi – Rustavi Urban Link – Section 2 Part B.

The Sub-project – „Rehabilitation of Kobuleti Seawall“, is being implemented under the Second Regional and Municipal Development Project (RMIDPS) supported by the World Bank. The SP envisages dismantling of the old protection wall and arranging instead coast protection stepped wall with the length of 1900 meters and improvement of the boulevard site in the coastline of Kobuleti City.

On May 4th, 2018, at 15:00 in Batumi City Hall (Address: 25 Luka Asatiani Street) Public Consultation Meeting on updated draft of Updated Initial Environmental Examination and Gender Related Issues, Community Health and Safety Action Plan for Opening the Beach during Summer Season 2018 will be held for the “Batumi Coastal Protection” sub-project.

The Sustainable Wastewater Management Project is financed by the Government of Sweden through Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), administered by the World Bank and implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF). The Project consists construction of two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Present Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report is for the construction and operation of Tskaltubo WWTP with the capacity of 6171 m3/d.
