Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) - Tourism and Project Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Activities in the Kakheti Region, Georgia


Georgia has applied for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services include the development of a monitoring and evaluation strategy that will serve to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the Georgia Regional Development Project. The activities undertaken under the consulting services are expected to (i) achieve a more detailed understanding of the current state of the tourism industry in the Kakheti region in the context of Georgia and (ii) deploy mechanisms to monitor the implementation and effectiveness of activities undertaken over the next three years to increase visitor arrivals, spending, employment, and tourism-related investment.

Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) - Investigation of Structural Integrity of, and Impact of Vibration and Noise on Buildings at a Segment of Tbilisi-Rustavi Road Project (Section 2, km 5,2-6,9)

The Government of Georgia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to finance the Sustainable Urban Transport Investment Program – Project 1. Part of the loan proceeds will finance the Project.

Government of Georgia declared modernization of the Tbilisi-Rustavi road section as a priority project.
The project envisages turning the existing 17.1 km 2-lane road into an international standard Category - I road with 4 to 6 lanes and 80 km/h of design speed. Implementation of the project will improve accessibility, connectivity and trade in South Caucasus and Georgia. Section 2 in Phonichala is expected to generate severe resettlement impacts. The Government decided to conduct additional investigation of the impacts and consultation on the local inhabitants to optimize the alignment and identify the measures in order to minimize the impacts on the affected population. 10 residential buildings in the urban area along the designed alignment (km 5,2-6,9 of Section 2) are located in close distance to the construction site (highlighted in blue in figures 1 and 2) and thus, will be subject to vibration impact during the road construction and to noise impact during construction and further exploitation of the road.

Restoration of Batonis Tsikhe (Castle) in Telavi Town (Phase 2) - IBRD/RDP/CW/NCB/06-2014

The Georgia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Restoration of Batonis Tsikhe (Castle) in Telavi Town (Phase 2). Restoration project anticipates replacement of damaged parts of the building and correction of the outcomes of a number of wrong decisions made during the restoration works in the 1980s. Wood bearing structures of roof and balconies, roof decking, wood tracery vitrage, doors and brick floor is to be replaced.

Request for Expression of Interest for the Position of Social Safeguards Consultant for Tbilisi-Rustavi Urban Link Project (Section 2)

The Project is funded by the Government of Georgia (GoG) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) is the project executing agency. The Project envisages Modernization of Tbilisi-Rustavi Section of the Tbilisi-Red Bridge (Azerbaijani Border) Road, in particular, upgrading the existing 17.1 km long, 2-lane road between Tbilisi and Rustavi into an international standard, “Category I” highway, with 4 lanes and a general design speed of 100-120km/hour and includes “urban boulevard” section with reduced speed limit. The Project has two key objectives: (1) A local and urban one, associated to the improvement of the urban link between Tbilisi and Rustavi; (2) An international one, the enhancement of the link between Azerbaijan and Georgia, and thereby between the Caspian Sea (Baku port) and the Black Sea (Poti and Batumi ports).
