Arrangement of Tourism Infrastructure and Safety Measures at Vani Kvabebi (Caves) Complex, Aspindza Municipality

Georgia intends to receive financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Development Project III, and to apply part of proceeds for payments under the contract for: Arrangement of Tourism Infrastructure and Safety Measures at Vani Kvabebi (Caves) Complex, Aspindza Municipality.

 

The SP site is located in Aspindza Municipality, Southern Georgia, at 280 km distance from Tbilisi and 30 km distance from Aspindza. Vani Kvabebi is a cave monastery site, excavated from the slopes of mountain on the right bank of the Mtkvari River. As the caves represents cultural heritage monument, the SP design has been already agreed with the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.

 

The Sub-Project (SP) on Arrangement of Tourism Infrastructure and Safety Measures at Vani Kvabebi (Caves) Complex envisages:

-       Arrangement of visitor center and public toilet;

-       Arrangement of parking area;

-       Applying of safety measures at the monument;

-       Arrangement of recreational area;

-      Arrangement of water supply, power supply and wastewater systems for tourist infrastructure, installation of biological treatment unit, and arrangement of a parking lot.
