Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has announced tender for rehabilitation municipality building facade and interior, which is situated in the central part of the town and as well as for rehabilitation of the theatre. The project is implemented through the financial assistance from the World Bank. The purpose of the project is development regional and tourism infrastructure. The estimated cost of proposed works is 1,335,624,64 GEL.

Within the scope of 82 new outpatient clinics construction project, Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has already assembled 27 units in different regions. Process is continuing and at the end of the year 82 outpatient clinics will be assembled. Government of Georgia has allocated 2,4 million GEL. Outpatient clinics are assembled by Municipal Development Fund of Georgia on specifically selected territories by Municipalities. Project is implemented jointly by Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Ministry of Labor Health and Social Affairs Security .

Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has announced tender on town Zestapony water supply rehabilitation works. More than 5000 citizens will be provided with improved water supply system and water quality after project implementation. Cost for construction works is 3,983,171 GEL. Government of Georgia has received loan from European Investment Bank for funding second phase of water infrastructure modernization project. Rehabilitation of Zestaponi water supply system will be implemented precisely within the scope of mentioned loan, which is highly important for Zestaponi citizens

Prime Minister Mr. IrakliGaribashvili with Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. ElgujaKhokrishvili andGeneral Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Mr. George Somkhishvili along with Governor of Kartli Mr.ZurabRusishvilihave visited Saltvisi-Tiriponi irrigation system rehabilitation works. Project is envisaged to be finalized till July 2014 that will improveirrigation system of 30 villages affected by war on 20 hectare. Municipal Development Fund of Georgia implementsSaltvisi- Tiriponi’s irrigation system rehabilitation works by USAID funding. Cost of the project exceeds 14 million GEL and more than hundred locals are employed.

Georgian Municipal Development Fund has announced competition for preparation of detailed design and cost estimate documentation for construction and rehabilitation of 25 km road section connecting village Roshka and villages of Arkhoti community – Akhieli-Chimgha-Amgha.

Today Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Elguja Khokrishvili with his deputies and executive director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Mr. George Somkhishvili have met Bank Sector representatives. Aim of the meeting was to improve relationship between Banks and companies implementing infrastructural projects.

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has a new Director. Giorgi Somkhishvili was appointed to the post of the Executive Director of the Fund by the Decree of the Prime-Minister of Georgia. Giorgi Somkhishvili has been working in the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia since 2012. He has worked in the capacity of Deputy Executive Director till 2013, after 2013 he has been holding an office of Director’s Adviser. Therefore, he is thoroughly familiar with the structure and operations of the Fund.

Irakli Gharibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia has nominated Elguja Khokrishvili as candidate to the position of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure. When introducing the replacement of David Narmania, the leader of government emphasized high qualification and professionalism of Elguja Khokrishvili

Today the scheduled meeting of the Interagency Commission for the Problems of the Homeless was held. At this meeting, the deputy director of the Municipal Development Fund, Tornike Toradze, presented the conceptual design of the temporary residence project for the homeless, prepared by the Fund.

Todays the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia David Narmania and the Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund Elguja Khokrishvili visited construction site of the metro station “University” and familiarized with the issues related to the project on-site. Besides, The Minister and the Fund Director provided information on commencement of construction to the society and introduced to the media the visual materials, showing the final image of the station upon completion of construction.
