Mr. David Narmania and Mr. Elguja Khokrishvili Met Mr. Klaus Gerhaeusser, Director General, Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) of ADB

Today, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. David Narmania and the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia met Mr. Klaus Gerhaeusser, Director General, Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) of ADB.

The parties discussed the issue of improving the process of management and implementation of the ADB-backed projects.   Particular emphasis was placed on the projects with credit agreement signed yesterday between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

These agreements provide for funding of the following projects:

Modernization of Tbilisi – Rustavi highway second section at the total cost of GEL 65.5   million U.S. dollars and second phase of coast-protection works in Anaklia at the total cost of GEL 7,5 million U.S. dollars. The projects will be implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.

For the purpose of the third project implementation, the ADB will allocate for Georgia approximately GEL 98 million U.S. dollars as concessional financing.

The project will be implemented by the United Water Supply Company of Georgia.
