800 households of 6 villages in Tianeti are provided with 24-hour water supply

 800 households of 6 villages forming part of Zaridzeebi Community  in Tianeti Municipality  are provided with 24-hour water supply.    

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has executed rehabilitation of the water supply system and about   2500 local inhabitants are provided with uninterrupted supply of high quality filtered potable water. Today, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Davit Shavliashvili, together with the Deputy Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Tornike Toradze familiarized himself on-site with outcomes of implemented works and met with Zaridzeebi Community population.    

Before works’ completion, the local population was provided with scheduled off-standard water supply for only 3-4 hours a day. Under the project a new water intake was arranged on the river Verkhvela, where reservoirs and water supply networks were installed. Works were ongoing in the following Villages: Zaridzeebi, Verkhveli, Jijeti, Iarajulebi, Khoptsa and Sakretchiotsi.   Under the project, a 40km water main was also subjected to rehabilitation.  

There were 120 persons employed at the construction site, majority of them were locals. Rehabilitation works for water supply system of 6 villages in Zaridzeebi Community were funded with GEL 2 million from the local budget.
