In Borjomi 18 IDP families were granted keys for residential buildings

 Today Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugee of Georgia Sozar Subari, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Giorgi Amashukeli and USA Ambassador in Georgia Richard Norland granted 18 IDP families (54 persons)with keys of residential buildings.   

MDF has rehabilitated former maternity home in Borjomi by USAID funding. Total cost of the works is GEL 887.776.17;  Within the framework of the project 18 residential buildings were rehabilitated, among them 8 - one room flats, 6 -  two room flats, 4 - three room flats and one flat is totally adopted for disabled persons. Among beneficiaries there are IDP from Abkhazia and Samachablo. During project implementation 100 persons were employed, 40 % were locals.  

It should be noted that each flat has individual totally equipped bathroom and lavatory. In each kitchen is installed water heater, also “ Karma” type heater. Playground and parking area are arranged in yard. External lightening network and decorative lamps are installed. Building is provided with 24 hour has water supply system.

Throughout country nine projects has already been implemented with cooperation of USAID and MDF and rehabilitation works are in process on three objects.

Event were attended by MDF Deputy Executive Director Tornike Toradze,  head of USAID, Danish Refugees  Council regional representative Poul Makintosh and representatives of local government.
