In Zugdidi 10 residential building are constructed for 320 IDP families

At the end of the year 320 IDP will get new houses. In Zugdidi 10 new houses are built. Today Minister of Regional Development and Infrastrucute of Georgia David Shavliashvili and MDF Deputy Executive Director Ilia Darchiashvili visited civil works in Zugdidi, the authorities entered into conversation with people employed at the project site.

Civil works are executed by MDF with KFW financial support. After construction finalization on Tabukashvili street hundreds of IDP’s living conditions will be improved. Among 200 employed persons on construction site, 150 are locals and 50 internally displaced persons. Civil works will be finalized at the end of current year.  

Within the framework of mentioned project four and five storey residential complex will be constructed. Totally 320 apartments construction is envisaged by the project. Internal and external infrastructure of the building will be entirely adjusted for disabled persons. Territory arrangement, utilities construction such as water supply, sewerage system, ventilation, power supply, gas supply,  are also envisaged by the project.  In residential district kindergarten and playground arrangement is also envisaged. The entire territory will be illuminated, and artificial surface will be arranged on  mini stadium. Each building will have open parking space and asphalt concrete will be paved on main road’s parking area.

Simultaneously to building construction bore holes are also drilled on territory for water supply purpose. As a result of these works residents of 10 buildings will be provided with 24 hour water supply and won’t be depended on town network. Within the framework of the project since construction is finalized “ Karma” type heater and cooker will be installed in each apartment.

Civil works commenced in 2013.  Total cost of the works is GEL 10 million 339 thousand. Works are implemented by Georgian company Ltd “Dagi”.
