The launch of rehabilitation works in village Dartlo

Village Dartlo has cultural heritage status. Based on a carried out survey in village Dartlo it was revealed that oldest houses require rehabilitation. Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, MDF in cooperation with National Agency for Cultural Heritage of Georgia have launched Dartlo rehabilitation project. On July 31 in Radisson was held presentation concerning  Mutso, Dartlo,Chajhashi rehabilitation projects and Vardzia rescue urgent program.

Today Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavliashvili, MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli, Deputy executive director Tornike Toradze, World Bank regional director Henri Kerali, South Caucasus sustainable development sector leader Ahmed   Aiveida and Kakheti governor Irakli Shiolashvili visited rehabilitation works in village Dartlo.  Davit Shavliashvili, Giorgi Amashukeli and Tornike Toradze held meeting with local population and self-governing representatives.

Cost for Dartlo rehabilitation  project is GEL  1,372,023. Project is financed by World bank and from State budget. Duration of the projects is 15 months and includes severely damaged 34 house rehabilitation.  

At this stage in village Dartlo 7 houses are under rehabilitation process and more 27 houses will be rehabilitated till the end of 2015.  

Works  are implemented by tender winner company Ltd “Specinjmsheni” which employs local population.

Aim of the project is to develop infrastructural services related to tourism and cultural heritage centers. As a result of project implementation local infrastructure significantly will be improved that will attract tourists and will improve social conditions of local population.

This project is not the only rehabilitation project for village Dartlo, government of Georgia is already developing new projects for implementation. In Caucasus village Dartlo is located in most reserved territory in Tusheti region, which has distinguish architect that attracts tourists attention.
