Bridge Built by MDF in Skhvitori Village will Connect 17 Villages with Sachkhere Center

 The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of Georgia has built a road bridge in Sachkhere municipality Skhvitori village, which will connect 17 villages to the center. Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili, MDF Deputy Executive Director and the representatives of Sachkhere municipality opened the new bridge and talked to population. Cost of the project funded by state budget was GEL488 974,92.

  The bridge was built across Chikhura river. The old bridge was out of order and posed a threat to local population during movement. Thanks to the MDF the problem has been eliminated and the village has a new road bridge of the latest standards connecting 17 villages to Sachkhere center.

These villages are Skhvitori, Chikha, Orgjuli, Chala, Ghona, Speri, Darka, Drbo, Sakokhia, Perevi, CHria, Churkhali, Qardzmani, Sinaguri, Jalbeti, Tbeti, and Tedeleti.

 Thirty people were engaged in the construction including the locals. The bridge piers are arranged on piles and equipped with regulatory walls. Upon entering the bridge into operation, all kinds of vehicles will have an opportunity of free movement. All characteristics of the new bridge are in compliance with the latest standards and requirements.

The bridge is 24 m long and 11 m wide. During the construction process, all environmental issues were taken into consideration to prevent environmental damage. Construction works that started in Skhvitori on 20 December 2013 and completed on 18 July 2014, were carried out by Zimo Ltd.
