Lanchkhuti citizens will be provided with 24 hour waters supply

 MDF Deputy Executive Director Mr. Tornike Toradze and Georgian United Water Company Deputy Executive Director Mr. Giorgi Koberidze visited water supply system rehabilitation works in Lanchkhuti municipality. After system rehabilitation Lanchkhuti population will be provided with 24 hour water supply instead scheduled from 3 till-12. MDF implements rehabilitation works by European Investment Bank funding. Total cost of the works is 2,703,731.06 GEL. After project finalization facility will be handed over to Georgian United Water Company for commissioning.

 

Internal municipal network amortized pipeline was replaced with new and two standby reservoirs were rehabilitated, also Klitekari head work and chlorination plant were arranged within the scope of the project. Before rehabilitation Klitekari head works infiltration grounds was not able to ensure filtration of required water amount. Receiving appropriate water quality was also complicated. Water supply to population was disconnected after river turbidity. As a result of rehabilitation Lanchkhuti population will be provided with 24 hour high quality water supply.
 
Project also envisages construction of new reservoirs with capacity of 500 m3 and of 2000 m3   on Lashisgele and Oragvi Gele head works, installation of modern chlorination system, fencing of sanitary zone, replacement of 40 km pipeline on town water supply network, arranging regulatory manholes and valves. Within the scope of project “ Skada” system will be installed, that will ease water supply control and operation.
 
Except Lanchkhuti water supply system rehabilitation United water Company of Georgia has also  implemented water intake rehabilitation of river Oragvi Gele. Cost of the project is 557,764,81 GEL. Oragvi infiltration ground was not able to ensure filtration of required amount of water, also water quality did not meet appropriate standards and during river turbidity water was not provided to population. 
 
As a result of rehabilitation water debit will be increased and population will be provided with 24 hour water supply. Number of subscribers will increase from 1200-to 1800. After works finalization water supply will not be depended on climate conditions, and water quality will be highly guaranteed.
