Start of announcement of biddings within Cities and Resorts Development Program

 The bidding for upgrade of Telavi and Kutaisi historic areas has been announced by Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI). The project provides for development of Batoni Castle and its nearby site in Telavi City, and development of historic district in Kutaisi City. 

 

The duration of the new state program for development of cities and resorts is 5 years, and at the first stage of it 11 following locations have been selected: Borjomi, Bakuriani, Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Telavi, Zugdidi, Batumi, Mtskheta, Stepantsminda, Mestia and Kazbegi. 

The remainder biddings for the other selected locations will be proceeded gradually within the program, in particular: historical part and central park of Borjomi will be upgraded; central park will be developed and recreation area of Tsivi Lake will be arranged in Tskaltubo; The new boulevard of Zugdidi will be arranged; historical part of Batumi along with the recreation space will be developed. The program envisages upgrade of historical areas in Kazbegi, Bakuriani, and of Mestia Municipalities and creation of the new attraction centers too. 

GEL one billion out of the state budget is to be spent on implementation of that new program.
