Construction of Three New Schools Completed in Samtskhe-Javakheti

 The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has completed works for construction of three additional schools in Adigheni Municipality of Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, under the School Construction and Rehabilitation Program.   

Two new schools designed for 150 pupils were constructed in villages Bonajuri and Benara of Adigheni Municipality, another public school for 60 pupils was constructed in village Ghortubani.   

All of the three schools were  constructed with observance of international standards. Apart from classrooms, the school yard also underwent improvement works.  Heating, water supply and wastewater systems were arranged under the named program as well.   The schools are fully adapted to needs of disabled pupils.

About 400 pupils of the named three villages will be able to get educated in improved environment and orderly educational infrastructure.

The school construction project was backed by Government of Georgia.

Overall, there are works for construction and rehabilitation of 11 schools completed and of 6 schools - still in progress in Samtskhe-Javakheti Region.  GEL 34 million is to be invested in the Region under the School Construction and Rehabilitation Program

As for now, there are projects for construction of more than 50 schools and large scale rehabilitation works for over 50 schools completed in various regions countrywide.   

Under the Educational Infrastructure Construction and Rehabilitation Program, the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is undertaking construction of 66 schools, and works for rehabilitation and energy-efficiency component strengthening for 100 schools. Overall Program cost is exceeding GEL 300 million.

The MDF has been involved in Educational Infrastructure Construction and Rehabilitation Program since 2019.
