Rehabilitation works for Khoni water pipeline are completed

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has completed rehabilitation works of water supply system for internally displaced persons in the military settlement, Khobi under the Regional Development Project funded by the EU. Total cost of the project is GEL 399,764.55. 70 persons got employed for the rehabilitation works, 10% of them were locals. Works started in 2012 and were completed in 2013. The above-mentioned works were implemented by “Inzhmsheni 96”.

As a result of the  project, currently internally displaced persons residing in 17 buildings in Khoni have a 24-hour clean water supply  and due to the rehabilitation works there is considerably lower consumption of electricity.

Under the project  turbo-units were purchased and installed  for the existing boreholes, a 24 m high pressure tower and a 240 m3 reservoir were arranged with metal structures.   Rehabilitation of the chlorination facility was performed and water chlorination system was arranged. Metering of the apartments was performed, and 1012 units of water meters were installed.
