Prime Minister nominated Elguja Khokrishvili as candidate to the position of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure.

Irakli Gharibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia has nominated Elguja Khokrishvili as candidate to the position of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure. When introducing the replacement of David Narmania, the leader of government emphasized high qualification and professionalism of Elguja Khokrishvili,

“We entrust to Elguja Khokrishvili the industry of great importance. He has outstanding qualification and I hope that he will become successful leader of the Ministry, worthy member of our team and successful minister. Up to date, Elguja worked as the head of Municipal Development Fund and Chairperson of the Board of Institute of Caucasus. He has outstanding qualification, perfect education and experience; he has all qualities to be successful leader of the ministry and follow the way started by Mr. David Narmania”, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Up to present Elguja Khokrishvili was at the position of the Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.

Elguja Khokrishvili is the doctor of economic and social sciences of Potsdam University, master of business and economics, bachelor of economics. He worked as the Chairman of Board of the Institute of Caucasian Economic and Social Researches, he was also engaged as an expert with Georgian and international NGOs, he was the research scientist of the Finance Department of Potsdam University, he has published over 20 publications on taxation and social policies, fiscal decentralization, local self-government reforms and regional economic development strategies in Georgia, English and German languages. He is fluent Georgian, German, English and Russian languages.
