 Specialists representing French Companies: Tekcable and Poma arrived in Georgia  for completing cableway construction works  in Chiatura.

Cableway construction project under implementation by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia  provides for full reconstruction of cableways and stations.   

At this point in time, construction works for structural part are completed along with cable installation in two directions. Other scheduled works imply construction of the remaining two directions of the cableway, testing of all four stations and introduction of safety regulations.

Following completion of the final stage works, the central station and four directions  originating therefrom  will be fully rehabilitated.  

In March, due to developments concerning   Covid-19 pandemic, specialists of French Companies Tekcable and Poma working on construction of Chiatura cableways returned to their country. Following resumption of flights for business visitors, they returned to Georgia with the very first flight.   

In accordance with regulations for foreign citizens travelling for business visits adopted by Interagency Steering Board chaired by the Prime-Minister, which was established for promotion of economic activities,   representatives of the MDF Contractor organization underwent PCR testing at the Tbilisi Airport and obtained medical reports upon arrival.  French specialists will get involved in cableway construction activities   today and as per the rule introduced by the above-referred Board, during a 14-day period will undergo PCR testing once in every 3 days.   Besides, while performing construction works, observance of acting regulations will be mandatory.

In course of construction works, more precisely during cable installation and station testing works, for safety purposes, part of Chiatura will have power supply restrictions according to the fixed schedule.

The Municipal Development Fund will complete Chiatura cableway construction works in fall of current year.
