Bakuriani By-pass Road in the Final Phase of Construction

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is completing design/construction works for Bakuriani by-pass road.  The project at the cost exceeding GEL 6 million is funded by the European Investment Bank.

Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia was visiting the ongoing project site for inspection together with Besik Amiranashvili, Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti region.

Construction of the 3 km road is completed and currently engineering structure arrangement works are in progress.   Due to non-existence of by-pass road, traffic congestions were frequently occurring here, which hampered comfortable and safe conveyance of tourists and locals.  The above-referred problem will be fully solved following project completion.

Apart from construction of by-pass road the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing a number of major infrastructural projects in Bakuriani, inter alia including arrangement of Mitarbi and Kokhta cableway access 3 km road, construction of parking lot at Didveli and  a multi-storey parking next to the by-pass road, central pathway and road arrangement works and urban regeneration and tourist infrastructure development project in the recreational park.
