Dusheti Historical District Undergoes Active Phase of Rehabilitation

The works for Dusheti Historical District envisages rehabilitation of buildings and structures of central part – Rustaveli, Erekle II, Chavchavadze, Kostava, St. Nino, Shamanauri Streets and of sites being in the vicinity of Central Park. On that section there are accumulated the distinguished samples of urban type buildings and structures with granted status of cultural heritage, built at the edge of the 19th and 20th  centuries. 

 

The project considers also rehabilitation of two houses of special historical value, i.e. Ilia Chavchavadze and so called Aprelov Houses. There is scheduled to be rehabilitated/restored 40 houses in total, including 24 ones with granted cultural heritage status. The project aims at reconstructing the original image of buildings of historical and architectural value and their demonstration. Arrangement of the road pavement, sidewalks and street lighting are also to be provided at Rustaveli, Erekle II, Chavchavadze, Kostava, St. Nino and Shamanauri Streets.
