The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing water supply network arrangement works in conflict zone bordering villages in Sachkhere Municipality. Cost of European Investment Bank funded project averages   GEL 11.5 million.

The project provides for installation of water supply system in conflict zone demarcation line adjoining villages Perevi, Jria, Darka, Chala and Speti.  It involves arrangement of headworks, water supply system, reservoirs, water treatment stations, distribution networks and 80 km water pipeline required for the water supply network.    The project also envisages installation of water meters in the villages.

For the time being, the villages are not provided with water supply systems, there are small networks and storage reservoirs arranged in certain districts, however they are hand-made and do not conform to accepted standards. The remaining part of population uses local spring or well water sources.  Following project completion about  3400 inhabitants of villages  Perevi, Jria, Darka, Chala and Speti  will enjoy 24-hour water supply.
