The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia intends to purchase 35 units of special technical equipment for Bakuriani. The project is to be funded by the European Investment Bank and it provides for procurement of snow cleaning, ski run arrangement,     solid waste management,  traffic congestion preventive/releasing and visitor transportation equipment. Total project cost equals GEL 15 million.

Apart from procurement of above-mentioned equipment, the MDF is carrying out a number of important projects in Bakuriani, including rehabilitation of Mitarbi and Kokhta cableway access road,  extension of parking lot  in Didveli, and construction of Bakuriany by-pass road, following completion of which  tourists and locals will be able to move around safely and comfortably.

The MDF is also planning to undertake such a significant project, as urban regeneration of village Bakuriani, development of traffic plan, arrangement of the central path and road in Bakuriani, and rehabilitation of the recreational park of the village.

In December of 2018, the MDF has completed rehabilitation of approximately 7,5 km long Bakuriani-Andeziti-Tsikhisjvari connecting road.

The infrastructure existing as a result of decades long chaotic development of Bakuriani and Gudauri is unable to serve the increasing number of visitors.  The projects of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia targeting improvement of resort infrastructure  serve right the purpose of solving the existing problems.
