The MDF will Implement Rehabilitation Works for the Pakhulani-Saberio Connecting Road

At the today’s session of the Government of Georgia, based on the proposal of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia a decision was made on implementation of the national and strategic importance motor road rehabilitation, which is located in Tsalenjikha Municipality and serves as the Pakhulani Community Center and Village Saberio connecting road.   The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is the above-mentioned project executing agency.

The present road section is located in the vicinity of the border of the non-recognized Apkhazian Republic and is generally utilized by the pupils living in Gali Municipality Village Saberio. In order to take lessons in Georgian language in the Pakhulani public school, they walk several kilometers every day.  Over 3000 local and IDP population use the same road.

The road section from Pakhulani Community Center to Village Saberio will undergo complete rehabilitation.

By decision of the Government of Georgia, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia will complete procurement procedures within a 3 month period, which will cover preparation of feasibility study and detailed design-BoQ documentation for the road rehabilitation.  The above-mentioned procedure will be followed by road construction-rehabilitation works.

Project implementation will not invoke allocation of any additional funds from the state budget; since as per instruction of the Government, the project will be funded with appropriations provided under the sub-program to be implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.
