“Mziuri” Park undergoes rehabilitation

“Mziuri” Park undergoes rehabilitation by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI). The project envisages rehabilitation of the site adjacent to Chabua Amirejibi highway, damaged as a result of Flood of June 13th, the Park is also to be rehabilitated completely. Throughout the territory of the Park there are to be arranged the skateboard areas, entertainment playgrounds for kids and small size soccer arenas, bike lanes, pergolas and recreation zones. At “Mziuri” former cable station building there will be arranged the mini-multi-media library and minimalistic exhibition hall of modern gallery. The rehabilitation works were visited by Vice Premier, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Executive Director of MDF Giorgi Shengelia.

 

The rehabilitation works provides for geological and hydrogeological studies to be held for the City of Kids. There are to be arranged the dendrology and irrigation systems too. Upon finalization of the project one more and completely well-furnished multi-functional recreation zone will be added to the capital city. The park will be divided into sports, cultural and recreational spaces of various types. “Mziuri” Park will be totally adapted to the people with disabilities. The rehabilitation works are being implemented with funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and is to be completed by 2020.
