The MDF Presents Large Scale Infrastructural Projects to Representatives of Design and Construction Sector

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and  Infrastructure of Georgia conducted an Open Day for introducing representatives of design and construction sector to their plans for development of public-recreational spaces, tourist facilities and associated infrastructure in Kutaisi, Gori, village Stepantsminda, historical part of Telavi, village Velistsikhe, villages Chvibiani and Zhibiani of Ushguli Community and village Mestia Laghami neighborhood. 

Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia briefed audience on the planned infrastructural projects.
The project aims at: rehabilitation-reconstruction of 52-55 residential buildings located in the central street of village Velistsikhe and village Velistsikhe Theater and Square; restoration-reconstruction of 19-th century historical buildings and Davit Kakabadze Gallery in Kutaisi, and central area adjoining historical buildings in Stepantsminda,   restoration-reconstruction of historical seven hills’ connecting main street in Telavi, major touristic itinerary of its historical part, Telavi central Square adjacent area and the Square located in the western part of “Batonis Tsikhe”; restoration-reconstruction of buildings existing in Laghami neighborhood; restoration-reconstruction of Svanetian towers existing in Ushguli community villages Chvibiani and Zhibiani, and 3 towers of village Chazhashi.
The first stage works provide for procurement of design documentation for the above-referred projects.  
The Municipal Development Fund aims to render bidding procedures more transparent and effective. Interested companies should have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with projects before announcement of biddings, better prepare themselves and enjoy open and equal conditions in competitive setting.
