Davit Narmania and Teimuraz Murgulia Departed to Cyprus for an Official Visit

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure David Narmania, Deputy Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Teimuraz Murgulia and other representatives of the Ministry left to Cyprus for an official visit.

The visit will be held within the period of March 11-12 at the capital of Cyprus Nicosia and the Ministry of Communications and Works of Cyprus will be the receiving party.  Within the frameworks of the visit, Georgian delegation will meet the Minister of Communications and Works of Cyprus Tasos Mitsopoulos and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides. The ministers will also visit construction sites and attend the ongoing construction works.

On March 12, David Narmania will meet His Beatitude Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and all Cyprus,  Chrysostomos II.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Ministry of Communications and Works of Cyprus and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The Memorandum provides for exchanging experiences between the two countries as well as introduction of European standards.

“The main objective of the visit is strengthening cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Cyprus in terms of infrastructure modernization. We are looking into the latest technologies and approaches that are applied for construction of infrastructural projects. Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed, under which Cyprus undertakes to assist us in harmonization of European rules and standards. "- Said David Narmania before his departure.
