Acceptance of Bids on Development of Mtskheta Masterplan Completed

January 3, 2019

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has completed acceptance of bids submitted by applicants who wish to take part in competitive bidding announced for development of Mtskheta masterplan.

Starting from the first week of 2019, the MDF shall commence analysis-evaluation of accepted bids.  UNESCO has included historical monuments of Mtskheta (Cross Monastery, cathedral church of Svetitskhoveli and Samtavro)   in the World Cultural Heritage  list, which has attached special importance to historical town Mtskheta. For prevention of random, chaotic development of urban infrastructure, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Georgia are, in active cooperation with UNESCO, working on elaboration of such regulatory arrangements, which will preserve historical value and significance of the city while not hampering its natural development.

It is right to this effect that in October of 2018, the MDF has announced bidding on development of Mtskheta Masterplan (Territorial Development Management Documentation).
