Stage I works for water supply to conflict zone bordering villages completed and Stage II getting under way

Works for arrangement of wells in Gori, Kaspi, and Kareli municipality conflict zone bordering villages are under completion.  Cost of the European Investment Bank backed project under implementation by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia averages GEL 6 million.   

The project provides for arrangement of wells, chlorination plants and pressure pipelines in conflict zone bordering 17 villages of Gori, Kaspi and Kareli Municipalities.   Following completion of stage I works, the MDF plans to undertake stage II works and has already announced bidding on civil works contract.  
Stage II works will commence in February, 2019 and are expected to complete in August, 2020. After project completion, population of conflict zone bordering villages of Gori, Kaspi and Kareli municipalities will benefit from 24-hour uninterrupted water supply.   
Executive Director of MDF Giorgi Shengelia along with Shida Kartli Deputy Governor Simon Guledani visited the current works on site.
