November 20, 2018

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia  is implementing the project for construction of wastewater treatment plant in Telavi.   The SIDA has extended a grant for project implementation,  project cost averages  GEL 12.4 million.

Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia together with Irakli Shioshvili, First Deputy-Governor of Kakheti Region was visiting the ongoing project site.

The project provides for construction of the new wastewater treatment plant in accordance with modern standards. It’s worth noting that there was no wastewater treatment plant existing in Telavi, which was a pending problem for the local population.   Fecal masses were freely flowing and discharging into river Alazani. Project implementation will fully solve the above-mentioned problem.
