Full Rehabilitation of Children’s Playground City Commencing Next Year

Presentation of the Children’s Park “New Mziuri” project was held in Mziuri. Park rehabilitation project to be implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia was launched    by Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi City, Maya Tskitishvili, Vice-Premier and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia,  Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia and representatives of European Investment Bank.    

Project implementation will commence next year, in consequence of which the City will enjoy another improved multifunctional recreational zone. The park will be divided into various type sporting, cultural and recreational spaces.  
The project covers  13 ha area and provides for restoration-arrangement of Chabua Amirejibi Avenue  adjoining flood-ravaged area and park, full rehabilitation of existing infrastructure, rehabilitation-adapting of depreciated buildings located in “Mziuri” park and transforming them into cultural-educational spaces.   
Former cableway station building located in Mziuri will accommodate a multimedia library  and a minimalistic exhibition hall of modern gallery.  Moreover, a building of Doll’s Museum will also be constructed in Mziuri. The only, unique museum on a regional scale, which was established in 1937, on initiative of Tinatin Tumanishvili - children’s writer and teacher, is hosting  2 714  exhibits of cultural heritage. The museum project comprises exhibition spaces, scientific lab and educational center. 
Rehabilitation works in the children’s city imply geological and hydrological survey of the area, and arrangement of dendrological  and irrigation systems.  Under the rehabilitation project, there will be public toilets fully adapted to the needs of disabled constructed in “Mziuri” park, underground utilities will undergo complete refurbishment, fire-control system will be installed and children’s recreational and sports’ grounds will be arranged, the park will have modern park infrastructure. The project is expected to complete by the year 2020.
